How well does CBT work?
The effectiveness of CBT has been shown in a number of clinical trials to help ease symptoms of various problems. It has been found to be just as effective as medication in treating depression and certain anxiety disorders. Long-term benefits of CBT have also been found in that the skills learnt in therapy can be used for the rest of your life to help to keep symptoms of anxiety and depression away, thus preventing a recurrence in the future.
